Life is good in NSB follow up

The Ascherl family looks at where their old home burned and where their new home will be.

Hey there! You may remember a month or so ago, I blogged about my friend Jill. Her home had an electrical fire in it and was a total loss. Unfortunately, she and her family also lost their dog, Daisy, in the fire. (You can read the whole story here: http://www.poshpineapplensb.com/life-is-good-in-nsb.html). Our hearts went out to the family and we wanted to do something to help. So we decided to design a t-shirt to sell.

The design of the shirt was easy...one of Jill's favorite sayings is "Life is good!" and she loves the beach. So we knew exactly what the shirt had to say. And in memory of Daisy, we dotted one of the i's with a little daisy. We were overwhelmed with everyone's support! People couldn't get their shirts fast enough! We sold so many the first day, we ordered more before the day was over! People came into the store, they purchased on our website, they called us to order over the phone and they gave us cash donations. We sold about 100 shirts in a very short amount of time! Seriously, I know there are wonderful people in the world, but I am always amazed at the generosity of others. I love the people from our little sandy beach town and those that live elsewhere, but carry our NSB sun and sand in their hearts.

I am happy to announce that we raised $1160.80 for the Ascherl family! Thanks to all who purchased or donated! When I told Jill the amount, I could see how touched she was and she said, "I had know idea you sold that many shirts! Thank you so much!" They are very appreciative.

So, what's going on now? Well, as you can see from the picture, the house was torn down. Jill and John have contracted with a local builder to start building in August. They are excited to start the process. They decided to build a 2 story house so the boys' rooms can be upstairs. And they always wanted a nice front porch so the new house will have that as well. Their existing pool will have to be redone (Jill said the tadpoles are loving it there, but they will have to move on!).

So, the family is smiling, having a fun summer and enjoying the journey! You never know what life has in store for you, but you can always learn from it and make the best of it. Thank you again for helping The Posh Pineapple help others! It means the world to me!

I hope you have a fabulous week,
Cheryl

PS - We only have a few shirts left in men's small and medium. Order yours now!
